EPL: Erik ten Hag Names Two Goalkeepers To Replace Onana At Man United

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has named the likes of Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton as the goalkeepers who can replace Andre Onana at Old Trafford

Ten Hag said this while insisting he is not concerned by the prospect of losing Onana to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January and February.

Though yet to be confirmed, it seems very likely that Onana will be called up to Cameroon’s squad for the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

This means the former Inter Milan and Ajax star could miss up to six games for Man United should his country reach the AFCON final.

Onana has played every single minute of Man United’s season so far.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Man United’s trip to West Ham on Saturday, Ten Hag said: “When he [Andre Onana] goes there [AFCON], we have a strong group of keepers with Bayindir and Tom Heaton so we are comfortable.

“Of course, we hope Andre is available as much as possible, but if not we have two good keepers who can replace him.”
