EFCC Confirms Army’s Handover Of 20 Arrested TASUED Students

The handover of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) students arrested by the Nigerian Army has been confirmed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The alleged online fraudsters were taken to the EFCC Ibadan zonal command by officials from the 12 Field Engineering Regiment in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The students were apprehended during a brawl with soldiers last Thursday as they celebrated the completion of their final exam.

Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s Head of Media, disclosed their names in a statement on Monday.

The suspects are Azeez Hameed Busayo, Olubor Chuks Winner, Amusa Abdulhakeem, Osoko Adesola David, Diyaolu Daniel Damilola, Olunlade Quadri Olamilekan, Amaje Kelly Armstrong.

Akorede Olaleye Tope, Owonifari Niyi Sanwiyu, Ganiyu Olamide Sodiq, Onasanya Taiwo Adeniyi, Ajayi Muhaymin Adesola, Asenuga Ridwan Ayotomiwa.

Others include Bamgboye Tobiloba Quadri, Ayede Opeyemi Oluwaseun, Oseni Abolore Ismail, Olaniyan Mayowa Emmanuel, Akanni Qudus Olaleye and Onasile Abiodun Sunday.

They were found with eleven automobiles, twenty-nine phones, and suspected hard narcotics. The cars are still in the Army’s possession.

In the current inquiry, 19 of the 20 pupils have been indicted, according to Uwujaren.

They will be charged in court at the conclusion of the investigation, according to the spokeswoman.
