Drunk man pours boiling water on mother in Niger

A man has allegedly poured hot water on his mother while under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicants.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Niger State has arrested a 35-year-old man, Musa Umar, for pouring hot water on his mother in
Minna , the state capital, causing serious injuries on her body.

Umar was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and cannabis while carrying out the act which caused his mother grievous injuries.

Northern City News gathered that the suspect who lived on Okada road with his mother was known for excessive consumption of alcohol.

Mr Philip Ayuba, Corps Commandant in the state, who disclosed this in Minna, yesterday, said that the suspect, who lives on Okada Road, Minna, after his arrest and interrogation, was believed to have committed the act under the influence of alcohol, tatolin and cannabis. He said;

“The culprit did not show any sign of regret for his action as he confidently accepted the responsibility of pouring hot water on his mother.

According to the commandant, the suspect confessed during interrogation that he had attempted to kill the mother several times. He said;

“He had attempted to kill his mother twice in the past by hitting her with a stone and stabbing her with a knife while under the influence of drugs,”

Ayuba said that the suspect would be charged to court after completion of investigation.
