Delsu withdraws certificates of two female graduates, disclaims 26 others
Authorities of the Delta state University, Delsu, Abraka, on Friday published disclaimer on two female graduates, Esene,Deborah Otibbo, and Omeni Winifred Ngozi,of the university, saying that the duo tampered with the university Degree certificates.
Mr,D.A urhibo, the university Registrar who confirmed this to DAILY POST said, ” The Senate of our esteemed university, Delsu ,approved the immediate withdrawal of the Degree awarded to the duo, Esene,Deborah Otibbo, and Omeni Winifred Ngozi, they were found tampered with the university Degree certificates, ” disclosing that twenty six others allegedly involved in examination malpractice were equally rusticated from the school.
He said that the school authority was poised to fish out the bad eggs including those who dropped out, yet parade the university degree as graduates and called on the general public to verify claims by unsuspecting persons as graduates of the university before dealing with them.
Since the steps taken by the authorities of the university to redeem its credibility, there has been palpable tension among many of the fake students including the purported graduates of the university, who have disappeared from business centers where they allegedly forge statement of Degree result for desperate persons.
To get statement of Degree result, insiders said, unsuspecting syndicate allegedly charge between N30,000 and N40,000. But Mr Urhibo, the university Registrar said , ” All these, we are stamping out at present, we have informed the police, and whoever is caught will be handed over to the police for further prosecution,so,it will not be business as usual again “
