Curfew: Police Impound 322 Vehicles, 241 Motorcyles, 61 Tricycles For Violating Order in Oyo

Oyo State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 325 persons for allegedly violating the dusk to dawn curfew imposed by the state government.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Shina Olukolu, who disclosed this while parading the suspects at the Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, stated that 241 motorcycles and 61 tricycles were also impounded.

He stressed further that while enforcing the curfew, 10 police officers were injured and three police vehicles were damaged.

Speaking on the ban on inter state travel, the CP admitted that it had not been wholly effective but noted that his men were doing their best.

He added that the command would continue to enforce the curfew as well as the ban on inter-state travels.

He then solicited for the support of the public through credible, reliable and timely information that would enable the police to be more proactive in the fight against crime in the state.

He also urged residents of the state to be law abiding citizens and warned those with criminal behaviours to desist from it or leave the state as the law will not spare anybody found guilty.
