COZA: Nigerians React As Court Rules On Busola Dakolo, Fatoyinbo Case
The ruling on the case between Busola Dakolo, the wife of singer Timi Dakolo and Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has triggered diverse reactions from Nigerians.
Naijaparry had reported that Busola Dakolo ‘s rape suit against Pastor Fatoyinbo of COZA was ruled out by a High Court in Bwari, Abuja on Thursday.
This is coming after Fatoyinbo filed an objection and affidavit maintaining that Busola’s claim was to tarnish his image.
The celebrity photographer had accused Fatoyinbo of raping her on two different occasions in 2002 in her family house when she was a teenager.
According to Fatoyinbo, the photographer had contacted the press before making the accusation and brought the civil action even while the Police’s investigation was ongoing.
However, in her judgement, Justice Oathman Musa held that the matter amounted to injustice, describing the case as an abuse of judicial process.
She added that the case was empty and purely sentimental, as the case was aimed more at cruelty than obtaining justice.
The court also ordered Busola to pay N1 million for “cruelty to the pastor” and held that the fine should have been 10 times more because the court’s time was wasted.
The celebrity photographer had sued Fatoyinbo, demanding that the COZA Pastor publishes an apology to her on the front page of at least two national newspapers, noting that the apology should also run on two national television stations for seven days running consecutively.
Here are some of the reactions from Nigerians following the ruling by the High Court:

I knew Busola Dakolo was going to lose this case.
Is it not Nigeria? We are messed up in this country tbh.— King David (@MeetOlamide) November 14, 2019
I actually knew Busola Dakolo was going to lose the court case against Biodun Fatoyinbo for lack of evidence. The court isn't about emotions and sentiments. It's all about facts and proven evidneces.

The case between Biodun Fatoyinbo and Busola Dakolo has been dismissed and Busola ordered to pay Pst. Biodun N1 Million in damages. Unfortunately the law doesn’t believe emotions, just evidence. I hope more rape victims will be able to voice out after seeing this failed justice.

The Nigerian Court has thrown out Busola Dakolo’s case and fining her for wasting their time.
I’ve been laughing since I heard the news. The same court that has been VERY slow to persecute Senator Elisha Abbo with unnecessary adjournments and excuses.
This is Nigeria.— ‘Lami Apejoye (@MsLami_A) November 14, 2019
