ngnews247.com had earlier reported that the Lagos state government had also on Tuesday, May 12, discharged a batch of 33 patients who fully recovered from the disease.
This was disclosed by the commissioner for health in the state, Professor Akin Abayomi.
Meanwhile, the commissioner also confirmed that a Nigerian returnee from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was dead.
On his verified Twitter handle Abayomi disclosed that the Nigerian, a male of 32 years old, died of complications from coronavirus.
However, in an update on Twitter, Abayomi said it was a presumed coronavirus-related death, adding that the test result of the deceased was not yet out.
The commissioner regretted any misinterpretation his earlier announcement must have caused, adding that the test result will be published once it is out.
