Channels TV Presenters Have Not Been Arrested, says …
Contrary to speculations that the Nigerian Federal Government has sanctioned the arrest of Channels TV duo, Chamberlain Usoh and Kayode Okikiolu, staff of the media outfit have told Ngnews247.com that the rumour is untrue.
Recall that Usoh and Okikiolu had on Wednesday during the programme, Sunrise Daily, interviewed a former Nigerian Navy Commodore, Kunle Olawunmi, who said the Muhammadu Buhari administration has top government appointees who are backers of the Boko Harm insurgents.
In line with his terrorist rhetoric, Olawunmi was also of the viewpoint that if “the government of Buhari is serious about putting an end to what we are seeing, then he must pronounce them (bandits/unknown gunmen) terrorist organisation”.
Reports emerged on Thursday morning that the presenters who hosted Olawunmi a day earlier had been arrested on the order of federal authorities. But a staff who spoke on condition of anonymity to this reporter said it is not true.
“They presented the show this morning. They were only invited by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), and as of 2PM, they were at the NBC office,” Ngnews247′ source said.
