In 2005, Baloyi joined the Democratic Alliance. He served on the Federal Council, the Provincial Executive Committee, and the Executive Committee for the Vaal Area. He took part in the Young Leaders Program of the DA.

Once John Moodey was named the party’s national director of operations in May 2022, Baloyi was elevated to the position of provincial chairperson.
In March 2023, Baloyi left ActionSA owing to his irreconcilable disputes with the party’s leadership. He had turned down the chance to join the party’s Senate and serve as its spokesperson.
Baloyi said on March 30, 2023, that he will register his own political party, Xiluva, to run in the 2024 general and local elections.
Following an altercation during an Arbor Day event in Savannah City, on September 29, 2018, Baloyi and an ANC member were both taken into custody after filing assault accusations against one another. His assault case was eventually dropped when he was granted bail and freed.
