Boko Haram ‘Kills’ CAN Chairman Abducted In Adamawa
Reverend Lawan Andimi, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika, Adamawa state, has been reportedly killed by Boko Haram terrorists.
Andimi was abducted following an attack on the village by Boko Haram insurgents in early January.
The district head of Michika, Ngida Kwache, made the disclosure while receiving the state deputy governor, Crowther Seth, who visited the area days after the attack.
Meanwhile, days after his abduction, the CAN official in a video clip appealed to both the federal government and governor of Adamawa, Ahmadu Fintiri to secure his release.
Andimi is seen in the video appealing to his fellow pastors to impress on the authorities to rescue him from the insurgents’ captivity.
The abducted cleric, however, declared that if it’s the will of God that he would not get out of captivity, the government should help him look after his children.
A source confirmed to TheCable that Andimi was killed by his captors on Monday.
At the time of this report, it was not clear why Andimi was killed.
