Bimbo Oshin was born on July 24, 1971, in Ondo, a city in Ondo State southwestern Nigeria. Oshin attended the University of Lagos where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy. Bimbo commenced her acting career in 1996 but rose to recognition after starring in a 2012 Yoruba film titled Omo Elemosho.

Bimbo Oshin grew up in Ondo State where she attended her primary school education at Saint Anne’s Primary School. Later, she went to Staff Primary School in Ile-Ife, Osun state. For her secondary education, she attended Girls Academy, Sandgrouse in Lagos State. Bimbo Oshin then went for higher education at the University of Lagos, where she bagged a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree in Philosophy.

Bimbo Oshin’s love for acting began at a tender age. She has been doing some minor drama in the house with her elder sibling in which they recorded their pseudo videos. But her career in acting started initially during her undergraduate days at the University of Lagos. Her friend’s sister introduced her to a group called Ara Osan group. She told her she had joined and she should follow her too. Bimbo agreed, joined the group (Ara Osan) in 1996 and started going for rehearsals. Ara Osan theatre group is a group owned by Rasaq Ajao and she spent four years under her boss. Although she started a movie career with English soap operas but right now, she is into the Yoruba movie industry doing well. The first movie that was released which made her popular was titled, “Akobi” in the year 1997.
In 2001, she featured in one of Wale Adenuga’s Super Story television series titled: “Oh Father! Oh Daughter!”, she co-starred with the like of Bukky Wright, Sola Sobowale (Toyin Tomato), Jide Kosoko, and Antar Laniyan.
In 2003, Bimbo Oshin produced her first Yoruba movie titled: “Eji Owuro”, soundtrack by Sola Allyson Obaniyi. The movie was highly successful particularly the soundtrack, the song was later released in an album.
In 2012, she featured in a lead role in the Yoruba blockbuster movie titled: “Omo Elemosho”, directed by Adebayo Tijani and produced by Yewande Adekoya. The movie has some notable Yoruba superstars like Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero), Fausat Balogun (Madam Saje), Muyiwa Ademola, and Toyin Abraham. The movie got 5 award nominations at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
As an entrepreneur, she is the owner of the clothing outfit named “Dashing by Bimbo Oshin”.
