Beth Mowins was born in Syracuse, New York, her father Len Mowins was a high-school basketball coach.
She loves sport and she plays basketball, softball and football at North Syracuse High School, New York.
She Captain the varsity basketball team for two seasons at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Lafayette with a BA in 1989.
In1990 she graduated from Syracuse University S.I. New-house School of Public Communication‘s with a master’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism.

Beth Mowins started her profession in 1991 as news and sports director for WXHC-FM Radio in Homer, New York.
In 1994, she joined ESPN covering college Sports, such as basketball, football, volleyball and softball. She has been the network’s lead voice on softball coverage, including the Women’s College World Series.
During the ESPN‘s tertiary broadcast team for the telecasts of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, she was paired with Cat Whitehill.
She became the play-by-play voice for Oakland and later Las Vegas Raiders pre-season television broadcasts in 2015.
She was the first female broadcaster to call the national televised NFL game and she was also the second female play-by-play announcer in NFL regular season history.
Mowins made her NBC Olympics debut hosting softball for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, and in the same year she starts calling the NBA games on ESPN.
Beth Mowins worked with analyst Doris Burke in calling an NBA game on ESPN in 2020 as part of ESPN‘s plan to have an all-woman broadcasting and production crew for the very first time on a national scale.
