ASSESSMENT OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC EDE MEDICAL CENTRE – A CALL FOR RESTRUCTURING

I open my manuscript with this popular apothegm “Health is Wealth”. You will resoundingly agree that good health contribute to the emotional well-being and happiness of human, the loss of health is loss of all happiness, hence ostensibly, good, effective, medical services is a necessity for students in health impasse for easy attainment of education, there is nothing in our life that is more valuable than good health, health is more important than any other wealth we own; Health is the greatest gift, Hence, Since Good health is a crucial value therefore medical service is a necessity.

But unfortunately, we tend only to give value to health when we no longer have it.

Students of Federal Polytechnic Ede will deliriously and flippantly agree that the wide range of problems and the unconformity at the School medical centre is excruciating which is calling for a serious concern, health services at the Federal Polytechnic Ede medical centre is unsatisfactory, with no verbosity personnel problems have been identify to be peculiar to the federal polytechnic Ede medical centre – delay as a major hiccup is exasperating and discommoding, delay in discharging duties of medical personnel at federal polytechnic ede is a longstanding and a common problem, Patients/students have long been plagued for waiting room delays before getting medic attention, this hitch can allot to an increase in the rate of Complication in Poly Ede Students.

Another spasmodic hitch and a recession in our wall is the uncompassionate, cold blooded, obdurate heart of Federal Polytechnic Ede medical centre nurses:

I witnessed a case recently where a patient/student was in a state of dire straits, a health imbroglio calling for exigency (emergency) but only for the nurses to deny him of medics because of registration related matters, then I cogitate “are these things more important than a life? ” we have mothers and fathers amidst them who also have children and will not in anyway want such predicament to befall on their love ones , then I ask myself a conundrum ” being uncompassionate part of their profession as a medical practitioners ?

Then if yes is the answer I will rather be a danfo driver than an uncompassionate doctor because life is an echo it gives back everything we do and “It brisks my heart seeing that those who have seen how life can be taken away never realised how precious ones life is ” and that “Life is too precious and short to dare to waste it on mediocre dreams”.

More so, there is a saying ‘health is better than wealth’ but for the medical profession reverse seems to be the case “wealth seems to be better than health” So no matter how severe Some cases seems to be(fatal health morbidity or disorder), without money no attention is given.

However Students are highly knowledgeable of the fact that the medical is not a charity organisation, but that is not enough reason for exploitation. Conclusively, on this note as Federal Polytechnic Ede commences her 2018 academics session let medical personnel see this as a charge ,a tactful advice, I will stressed that this admonition is not a lampoon on the side of the management of the Federal Polytechnic Ede medical centre but an effort to sustain development – an apotheosis and a sui generis services for humanity.

However the management/Government must fortify the medical centre with sufficient man power.

A time to turn a new leaf, let all medical practitioners be aware that life is more precious than all pre-medical exercises, life is also about the impact you made not the income you made ,let not your profession take compassion away from you, safe a life first!!!

LIFE IS PRECIOUS THAN SILVER AND GOLD!!!!

GOD BLESS FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC EDE

GOD BLESS OUR MEDICAL STAFFS
