A$AP Rocky Arrested: Rapper ASAP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayer, has been detained by the Los Angeles Police Department at LA International Airport regarding an incident which took place in November 2021.
Days prior to his arrest, Rocky had been photographed in Barbados with fellow musician and girlfriend Rihanna, who is pregnant with their first child together.

Why has ASAP Rocky been arrested?
According to authorities, Rocky was taken into custody at Los Angeles International Airport in connection with a shooting that occurred in Hollywood last year on 6 November.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said that the rapper had been detained on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
A press release issued by the LAPD said: “On November 6, 2021, around 10:15 p.m, an argument between two acquaintances occurred in the area of Selma Avenue and Argyle Avenue, in the Hollywood Area.
“The argument escalated and resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim. The victim sustained a minor injury from the incident and later sought his medical treatment.
“Following the shooting, the suspect and two additional males fled the area on foot.
“Detectives worked diligently to investigate and corroborate the reporting information which helped identify the suspect(s) involved.
“The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Rakim Mayers, a Los Angeles resident, also known as music artist A$AP Rocky.
“Early this morning (20 April), LAPD officers arrested Mayers for Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) at the Los Angeles International Airport.
“This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.”
Rocky’s attorney, Alan Jackson, confirmed to media outlets that the rapper had been arrested, but declined to offer any more information.
According to TMZ Rocky has been released from the LAPD headquarters after his bail was set at $550,000. TMZ has also reported that police conducted a search at Rocky’s house.
Rocky was the focus of international attention in 2019 after being detained for nearly a month in Sweden following a street brawl. He was found guilty of assault and given a “conditional sentence” that meant no additional time in jail.
