Amotekun Corps Intercept Suspected Bandits At Osun-Oyo Boundary

The Amotekun Corps in Osun State on Sunday intercepted an eighteen seater bus at Osun-Oyo boundary while trying to sneak into the state.

Despite the ban on the interstate movement, the offenders were also suspected to be bandits from Lagos State going to Itagunmodi mining Site, in Atakunmosa West Local Government Area of Osun State.

Conforming the story, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, the Director-General of the Amotekun Corps in Osun, said the corps stopped the eighteen-passenger bus at Ikire while they were trying to forcefully enter the state.

Shittu disclosed that assorted types of charms were recovered from two of the suspected bandits.

According to him, “the eighteen passenger bus was filled to the brim while trying to forcefully enter the state of Osun but was stopped by Amotekun corps, at a checkpoint around Oyo/Osun boundary.

“To the dismay of Amotekun corps, the suspected bandits, who claimed they’re coming from Lagos and going to Itagunmodi mining Site, in Atakunmosa West Local Government Area of the state of Osun, could not explain why they decided to break the directives by President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Gboyega Oyetola to close boundaries.

“Since the boundary closure is still in force, the Amotekun Corps, Osun State, had no option than to send them back to where they were coming from.”
