Amotekun bans indecent dressing, to penalize people who ‘degrade’ Yoruba language

The Osun Command of Amotekun Corps has threatened to confront any person(s) within its jurisdiction, who degrades the Yoruba language.

Commandant of the security outfit in the state, Amitolu Shittu, made this known during an empowerment programme in the state.

He also vowed to use its regionally vested power to seek prosecution of persons guilty of indecent dressing when the group commences full operations in March 2021.

Speaking at the recently held empowerment programme initiated by a Hon. Babatunde Ayeni the lawmaker representing Ilesha Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives, Mr. Shittu noted that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria did not include obscenity in its provision for freedom of as­sociation.
