On November 7, 1980, Deza the Great was born to Mr. and Mrs. Desalu. Deza received a Second Class Upper Division Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Agricultural Science from the University of Lagos, where he finished his undergraduate education. After that, he attended Nexford University to study an MBA with a specialisation in artificial intelligence.

In June 2005, he began working at Globalcom (GLO) as a Customer Care Consultant. In November 2007, he was elevated to the position of Business Developer in the Commercial Roaming Department. After a year of employment, Deza the Great transferred to Equatorial Trust Bank, which is now known as Sterling Bank, in 2008.

He began his 14-year, 11-month career at Sterling as a business process analyst and rose through the ranks to become the Regional Client Engagement Officer in August 2020, where he is today. Throughout all 70+ offices in Lagos State, he oversees service and operational excellence in his capacity as a regional client engagement officer. In addition to many other professional skills, he possesses the following: acting, project planning, operation management, team leadership, finance, testing, elevator pitch, influence without authority, business analytics, enterprise software, business analysis, emotional intelligence, people management, marketing strategy, and more.

Along with many other areas, he has honed his skills in strategy and leadership, execution, customer experience management, digital transformation, programme and project management (Agile Methodology), agile coaching, business development, and filmmaking.

Deza The Great has loved performing since he was a young child. He and his brothers enjoy viewing films together, particularly Hollywood productions. They also like James Brown and the late British author Ian Fleming. Their father was also an enthusiast of Hollywood films, and they would practise the roles more than 28 times after watching. After quitting Globalcom in 2018, Deza The Great visited his friend at Globalcom, which is how his acting career began. He met a few entertainers who work as Globalcom ambassadors at the workplace, and he told one of the actresses he met about his desire to become an actor.

He went up to renowned actress Monalisa Chinda. She then advised him to try it out and advised him to check on her at the same location later. Later, Deza The Great returned, and Monalisa brought him to Emem Isong, a film producer. He read the script that she had given him and was read for his monologue. After finishing it, he indicated he would come to the Royal Arts Academy in Surulere the following day when Emem asked if he could.

The following day, he went, and that is how his acting career began in 2010. He met Desmond Elliot, Uduak Isong, and Emem Isong at the aforementioned spot. He was also cast as Barry in the TV show “Catwalk.”

He needed to advance his banking profession, thus he was unable to take on more gigs (jobs) after his first shot. When Jobs arrived, he requested that the producers book him for the evenings or weekends so that he could attend. He thus took a nine-year hiatus to advance his financial profession before returning in 2019.

The majority of the time, he worked at night after work and on the weekends. He added that Sterling Bank is a great place to work since it allows one to follow alternative career routes, and that when his firm started offering remote jobs, he had enough time to visit movie sites.
