Abuja Airport Introduces Parking Fee For Motorists
Preparations are in top gear for the introduction of park and pay for motorists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital.
Speaking to the Executive members of the Abuja Transportation and Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA), the North Central Regional General Manager, Mr, Kabir Mohammed said the aim is to bring sanity to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.
Mr. Mohammed, stressed that the introduction of the park and pay policy at the airport would address the problems of touts, which is capable of crippling the Aviation Industry’s economy in Nigeria.
He also assured the travellers that the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport is currently working on modalities to streamline the illegal businesses going on at the front of the departure hall at the airport.
” In order to curb the issue of the traffic Jam at the toll gate of the airport, which is affecting airport staff and travellers, the airport management has set up a taskforce, which constitutes myself and head of departments to supervise at the toll gate on a daily basis with the sole aim of managing the inflow of traffic into the airport.”
“This effort has improved on the situation to a great extent, making entry into the airport easier”. Mohammed added
” We also proposed the introduction of shuttle buses for staff, stakeholders and airport users, as well as a staff welfare & recreation centre, introduction of staff weekly/monthly report which has made positive impact on staff discipline and performance in the airport management activities”.
