Mobile Money Vendor Gunned Down
In a sad report, a group of armed men reportedly stormed the premises of a mobile money vendor and subsequently gunned him down.
The incident reportedly occurred at Ahenkofi, in the Western Region of Ghana with the victim identified as a 24-year-old name with name, Joseph Amoah.
Per what we gathered, this young man is currently fighting for his life and the report, according to Starr FM, stated that the victim has lost about GHC 10,000 of both physical and E-cash in the robbery incident.
The incident reportedly happened on Friday, April 9th around 6:30 pm and it was revealed that the robbers sped off with their motorbike leaving the victim in a pool of blood.
Had it not been for the timely intervention of passers-by, the victim would have lost his life.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has advised the general public to be cautious on mobile money fraud.
In a statement recently released by the police service, how the fraudsters are operating and the procedures they will make the victim go through were brought to light.
The statement further revealed that the fraudsters will send an SMS to the victim that he/she has won a prize from a promotion the supposed Telecommunication company is running.
After, the fraudster would call the victim directing him/her to a mobile money vendor to take the cash price.
Upon arrival at the mobile money vendor, the victim would request to speak to the vendor, directing him to send some amount of money to him(fraudster) on behalf of its victim.
After the transaction, the mobile money vendor and the victim will have realized that they have been scammed.
