Sunday Igboho Warns FG To Unfreeze His Bank Accounts
Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, on Tuesday, disclosed that the Federal Government has frozen his bank accounts.
Igboho while speaking with Vanguard noted that the Nigeria Government froze all his bank accounts because some people were collecting donations.
He, however, stated that he does not know about the donations and warned the Federal Government to unfreeze his accounts to avoid nationwide protest by youths across the South-West region.
His words: “They have frozen my bank accounts because I am fighting a just course. I know Yoruba people are behind me.”
“I will not relent. I must achieve my aims by putting an end to criminalities in Yorubaland.”
“If they refuse to release my accounts, there will be serious protests across the South-West.”
“Yes, the Yoruba are living in fear. They are afraid that the killer-herdsmen might attack them.”
Meanwhile, a report by SBM Intelligence, Nigeria’s geopolitical intelligence platform, has stated that the peace deal initiated by a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, with bandits may fail.
Recall that Gumi had visited bandits camp to spread the message of Islam and peace to the Fulani herdsmen and rid the country of kidnappings and banditry.
The renowned scholar and his entourage were said to have first gone to the forest of Tubali and Makkai in Shinkafi LGA which were under the control of armed Fulani herdsmen.
But SBM, in a report, noted that Gumi will face challenges in his move to restore peace and end the violence in the northern communities.
