ANALYSIS: See LGAs And Their Covid-19 Cases – Ibadan North Leads With 348 Cases

Ibadan North Local Government Area leads with 348 cases as Oyo state recorded 2,782 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, data released by the state government on Wednesday revealed.

Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed that two additional patients have been released after receiving second test results. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1396.

Breakdown of the cases shows that Ibadan Southwest followed Ibadan North with 322 cases while Oluyole has 246 confirmed cases.

Analysis of the report by ngnews247.com showed that the last five LGAs with low cases are Kajola, Iwajola, Irepo, Ibarapa East, and Atisbo LGAs with one case each.

Further analysis revealed that the major concentration of coronavirus in the state is in the Ibadan metropolis.

On Tuesday, the Oyo State Government launched a statewide containment and decontamination response initiative to curtail the spread of COVID-19 across the state.

Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, the state’s Team Lead of the Containment and Decontamination Project, said the initiative would focus on the next phase in the containment of COVID-19 in the state.

Adeyemo said 77 environmental health officers were being trained while each team had been provided with a revolving N500,000 seed grant for the purchase of chemicals and logistics.

She canvassed the need for self-policing, adding that compliance form had been made available to report violators of COVID-19 guidelines.
