Speaking at a conference in Benin on Monday, March 19, the Deputy National Secretary General of the Association, Comrade Ogochukwu Isioma, stated that the way Fulani Herdsmen kill freely in the country is highly appalling and condemnable.

He said, “We are calling on the state government and the Edo state Police Commissioner to as a matter of urgency, fish out those involved in this barbaric act. It is our hope that Governor Godwin Obaseki, being a listening Governor, will swing into action and act immediately”.

Comrade Ogochukwu also called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps in finding a lasting solution to the lingering Fulani Herdsmen clash, which he said is gradually becoming unbearable and turning into a menace.

“The federal government needs to stop paying lips service to this Fulani Herdsmen crisis. This is a serious matter and does not deserve kid-glove treatment. We can’t have a country in which some people feel that they are free to move around, killing people at will. We cannot have a country like that, obviously, these are terrorists and the government ought to treat them as one”.
