50-year-old Farmer, Baba Kabiru, Defiles 3-year-old girl in Oyo

A 50-year-old farmer, identified simply as Baba Kabiru, has been accused of defiling a three-year-old girl, after luring her with a packet of biscuits.

According to PUNCH Metro, the incident occurred last Wednesday, June 10, 2020, on Baba Moja Street, Ayetoro area of the Igbeti community, Oyo State.

The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime and blamed it on the devil.

The mother of the victim, Aroye Adewunmi, was said to have found the suspect adjusting his trousers while coming from the back of a toilet, while the victim followed behind.

The woman, who became suspicious, queried the suspect about what happened to her daughter and when she did not get a satisfactory response, she checked her daughter and discovered some stains in her private part, PUNCH reports.

Narrating the incident to PUNCH Metro, Aroye said, “I was cleaning the house on the day of the incident, while my daughter was playing inside the compound. The man came to lure her with a packet of biscuits and when I came out to look for her, the other children said the man had taken her away and I started looking for her.

“I went to the man’s house with other people, who helped to search for her, but I didn’t see them there and I started screaming and suddenly, we saw the man coming out from the back of the toilet and adjusting his trousers.

“I saw that my daughter’s body was dirty and I asked him what he did to her, but he didn’t answer me at first and residents said I should check my daughter well and when I checked her private parts, I saw stains and when I queried the man again on what he did to my daughter, he said it was the devil’s work.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident, said the matter had been referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

“It’s a rape matter and the DPO has been ordered to transfer it to the SCID, where the matter will be further investigated, which he has done,” Fadeyi stated.
