Nigerian Leaders Need Prayers To Fight Insecurity – Senate President
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders to succeed in their fight against issues affecting the country.
Lawan further stated that many countries have gone through similar challenges, but he is sure Nigeria will conquer its hurdles.
The President of the Senate stated this while speaking at the Requiem Mass for late Senator Ignatius Longjan, held at a Catholic Church, Jos, Plateau State Capital, adding that, “Prayer can change anything”.
He said, “We need prayers as a country and as a people. We need prayers to secure our country.”
“Nigerian leaders need prayers to have a kind of country that we desire to have, where love and peaceful coexistence thrives.”
“This evolution we going through we will come out of it because many nations have gone through similar challenges and have successfully come out of it.”
The Senate President described the deceased lawmaker as a “humble, peaceful and loving person.
“The task before us at the National Assembly is to work on those things he believed in, which include peaceful coexistence among all.”
“We pray that this death that brought us all together will continue to unite us as a people and as a country”.
The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, appreciated the Senate President and others for their show of love to the state in its moment of grief.
Lalong while speaking on security situations in the state said he has set up a committee to improve the security structure in the state.
“By the grace of God, we will not handover crisis to the next administration”.
