Wizkid’s “Brown Skin Girl” Bags Two Nominations In Foreign Awards
Pop star, Wizkid’s music collaboration with Beyonce titled ‘Brown Skin Girl’ has bagged two nominations from the Soul Train Awards.
Naijaparry understands that ‘Brown Skin Girl‘ was nominated in two categories of the awards.
The song was nominated for awards in the ‘THE ASHFORD as well as SIMPSON SONGWRITER’S AWARD’ and ‘BEST COLLABORATION’ categories.
The 2019 edition of Soul Train Awards would hold on November 17 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
This is Wizkid’s third nomination at the awards as “Come Closer” was nominated for “Best Dance Performance” in 2017.
‘ Brown Skin Girl’ is a track off Beyonce’s Lion King album released on Friday, July 19.
Fans have been in awe of the song which also featured her daughter, Blue Ivy and Guyanese rapper SAINt JHN.
‘Brown Skin Girl’ trended across all social media platforms since the release, with many hailing Wizkid for his rendition.
Beyonce unveiled the track list, featuring quite a few African stars like Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tekno and a host of other international stars.
Beyonce had said she wanted to ensure that she worked with the best from Africa and not just sample sounds from Africa.
“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wished to ensure we discovered the most effective expertise from Africa, and never simply use a number of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” she added.
