Ritual: Decomposing Woman’s Body Discovered In Osun River (See Graphic Pictures)

The decomposing body of a middle age woman was discovered on Friday in a river around Temidire, Oke Ima area, Ilobu, Osun State.

Naijaparry understands that the decomposing body which has left the residents of the area in awe on how it got to the river was said to have been dumped there by suspected ritualists. This is coming four days after an old man’s decomposing body was found in Ojutu river in the same town.

Speaking with Temidire community leader (Baale) Mr Tijani Rasheed, said it will be the first time the community will be having such an horrific experience. Adding that no account of robbery, ritual killing or kidnapping has been recorded in the community in the past.

“This is the first time this kind of sacred occurrence is happening here. In fact, I am startled that this kind of ugly incident is happening in our community”. Tijani lamented.

Meanwhile, when got to the scene, Irepodun Local Government Environment Health Officials and Policemen were seen guiding the scene of the incident and preparing to retrieve the decomposing body from the river for burial so as to forestall spread of diseases and other unfathomable environmental hazards.
When asked about the identity of the deceased, some residents spoke with could not ascertain specifically, because her head has been shaved and face severed.

A resident said they were alerted of the mischievous incident by One of the members of the community who went to defecate nearby the river.

“It was a man who went to the river to defecate that saw the decomposing body. We then called the local government environmental sanitation officials who later came with policemen to come and see for themselves what has happened here”.

The river where the decomposing body was found is in-between Ayeloja and Temidire-Oke Ima Communities in Ilobu, while findings deduced that the body could have been dumped in the river about four to five days earlier.


As at the time of filing this report, Environment Health, Irepodun Police Division Officials with the efforts of some community members have buried the deceased.
