EFCC Reportedly Releases Naira Marley, Zlatan Ibile
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) has reportedly released Nigerian singers, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley and Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile .
Their release comes after Concise News had earlier reported that the duo were arrested alongside others in the early hours of Friday, May 10.
Fans and supporters of the Nigerian artistes had since been celebrating their release since they walked out of the EFCC’s custody in Lagos.
This news platform had reported that the EFCC had in a statement on Friday revealed the singers were arrested in connection with advanced fee fraud.
However, the arrest of Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile seems not to go down well with some Nigerians as some have taken to their social media platforms to express their reactions over the arrest of the artiste.
This online news medium recalls that the singer said in April that internet fraudsters (Yahoo boys) help Nigeria’s economy and are crucial to the circulation of money in the Nigerian economy.
The ”Issa Goal” crooner made this comment during an Instagram live session on Tuesday, April 23.
He added that the political class had looted the country and thus the economy would have collapsed if not for “Yahoo Boys” who make money “go round” in Nigeria.
He said: “All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?” he asked.
“You better sit down and pray for yahoo boys. If them stop yahoo, the money would not pass you guys
“The money will go like this, from Obasanjo to Tinubu, from Tinubu to Mr Japa, you think me I need Yahoo?
“I make money from my music.”
