EPL: Mikel Arteta gives injury update on three key Arsenal players

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shared the latest injury updates on three key players Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber — ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.

During his pre-match press conference on Friday at Sobha Realty Training Centre, Arteta mentioned that all three players could potentially be available for the Liverpool game.

However, the Spaniard noted it was still too soon to make a definite call.

“We are going to do everything possible to have them available, but it remains uncertain,” Arteta stated.

“[Saka] has done some training on the field. Whether he’ll be ready by Sunday is another matter, but we’ll see.

“[Calafiori] still needs further testing. He had some tests yesterday, more today, and then we’ll have a clearer picture.

“As for Timber, it’s his first session where he might be involved. He’s been out for a while, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
