Since Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) released its 2023 nomination list, the internet has been agog as actors/actresses took to their Instagram pages to rejoice over their nominations.
One of the nominees of the upcoming award show is Yoruba actor, Femi Adebayo, who can’t keep calm.
The movie producer has bagged 9 nominations for this year’s edition.
His movie, King of Thieves bagged 9 nominations for Best Director, Best Actor, Best Art Director, Best Writer, Best Picture Editor, Best Makeup, Best Sound Track, and Best Overall Movie.
Sharing the good news via his Instagram page, Femi Adebayo congratulated himself and the cast and crew of the movie.

King of Thieves bags 9 nominations

Since releasing King of Thieves last year, Femi Adebayo has broken several records with his
epic movie.
King of Thieves breaks records
King of Thieves had grossed over 200 million in less than 4 weeks of it being released.
Sharing the good news on his IG, Adebayo uploaded a video of him dancing energetically as his movie grossed over 224 million, making it among the top 10 highest-grossing movies in Nigeria.
At that time, Femi Adebayo’s achievement had replaced Toyin Abraham’s highest-grossing movie, the Ghost and Tout which garnered N134.4 Million.
Weeks after that, King of Thieves was crowned the first 2022 Nollywood movie to hit 300 million.
The milestone achievement made King of Thieves the first Nollywood movie to gross 300m and the first indigenous movie to hit N300m in 2022.

Adding to his numerous achievements, King of Thieves was the first Nigerian movie to sell out at Odeon Cinema.
To add to it, it is also the first Nigerian epic to sell out, the first Nigerian film to get a second-day screening due to its demands, and the first indigenous film to complete the feat 2 Odeon approved screening unplanned.
