Adekunle Gold breaks silence, blasts Burna Boy’s fans for calling him a ‘copycat’

Nigerian Singer and father of one Adekunle Gold has responded to fans that is dragging him for copying Burna Boy’s fashion style.

Reacting to recent criticisms unbothered Adekunle took to his Instagram story to state emphatically state that he intends to upset a lot of his haters so they should get ready.

He said: I just want to announce that this is the year that Ii will be pressing your necks real bad. Get ready!

Adekunle Gold has been facing criticism on multiple fronts lately. Apart from his fashion sense, his music video for “Party No Dey Stop” received backlash from fans who felt that it failed to convey the message of non-stop partying that the song promotes. Specifically, some Twitter users criticized the video’s use of excessive colors and questioned why a party-themed song was shot in the bush.

Fans of the Odogwu singer had noticed how Adekunle Gold was always wearing similar outfits to Burna Boy and also imitating his style, pose, and patterns.

A fan of the singer had questioned if Adekunle Gold can’t be himself as his constant imitation of Burna Boy was getting annoying.

He pointed out how this has been going on for a while now, hence why he is speaking out.

“The Burna Boy plagiarism is really so obvious and very annoying at this point. Man can’t you just be yourself? Same posture, same glasses, same smile, wtf?? It’s been going on for a while now and we need to speak on it.

Now he’s already linking with Odg’s pals, the most annoying part of it all is that he doesn’t acknowledge that he copies Odg in any way”, he tweeted.

“Y’all really want to say this is coincidence? LMAOo, na to go sing LastLast remain for am”, he further wrote.

Defending her husband, Simi mentioned how people who have good things going on in their lives never do things like that.

She stated that anyone who comes on the internet to talk nonsense about people, who are minding their business, is sad.
