Her demise news was announced by her fellow news personality, Ali Allison on Facebook and the statement reads, “I am sad to share with you.. Laura Rojas, a beautiful bright light in our NewsChannel 10 and Telemundo family has passed away”.
Who was Laura Rojas?
Laura was born in El Paso, Texas, but grew up in Amarillo. She went to Amarillo’s Palo Duro High School. At Sam Houston State University, Laura double-majored in Spanish and criminal justice. She also holds a similar Amarillo School diploma.
Laura returned to the city after a nine-year sabbatical to pursue a career in broadcast journalism, which she has been doing for more than two years.
She takes great delight in covering stories that affect both English-speaking and Hispanic communities.
She began her career in broadcast journalism as the news anchor for the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. shows on KVDA Channel 60 Telemundo in San Antonio, Texas.
The Spanish entertainment program “Tu Onda Internacional,” which was broadcast in both the United States and Mexico, hired Laura as a reporter and host after that.
Before joining the news team at News Channel 10/Telemundo, Laura served as a reporter for the Univision station KEYU in Amarillo, Texas.
